Join us for a night of musical variety at one of the oldest theaters around Philadelphia, Plays & Players Theatre.
Emmett Drueding is a singer-songwriter and guitarist based in the Mount Airy, Philadelphia. He draws inspiration from array of musicians such as Paul Simon, Miles Davis, Dave Van Ronk, and John Fahey. Drueding has been described as “quite the enigmatic artist, at times he can be described as a singer songwriter, yet this generic term does not at all encompasses the music Drueding is making. He’s been described as ‘country blues rock rock & roll alt-folk americana folk folk punkindie lo-fi indie rock Philadelphia,’ I would say that sounds perfect,” (Echo Call, 2015). Jack Zaferes is a West Philadelphia based musician and composer who has played bass in and with a variety of groups such as Stolen Rhodes, Curtis Cooper, & Underwater Country Club. Zaferes has been working on a collection of atmospheric electric bass driven compositions that includes the support of strings, horns, synthesizers, and a variety of other instruments which pay homage to some of the great cinematic orchestrations as well as to the likes of Weather Report. Be prepared for a night of jazz and experimental composition, you really can’t miss it.
