Burns Night
January 25 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
We’ll serenade our haggis and sip cock-a-leekie soup
Over sips of scotch (or maybe not), recite a poem or two
As the night lingers on, we’ll all croon along
For the folk poet of Scots,
Ah! Rabbie, here’s to you!
This year, we’re excited to add a live bagpiper to our celebration! Other scran will include neeps, tatties, and shortbread. The address to the haggis will begin promptly at 5:30p with a complimentary wee dram of Scotch. This laid-back, casual Burns Night celebration is hosted by P&P members with Scottish roots – so if you’re looking for highbrow pomp we suggest you seek elsewhere.
5:00p – Doors
5:30p – Address to the Haggis
5:45p – 6:30p Readings from the Crowd (Bring your favorite Rabbie Burns Poem or pick one from our selection)
6:30p – Toast to Robert Burns from the Host
This event is $10 for non-members. Active P&P members may attend for free; please check in with us if you did not receive your discount code by January 4th (or just pop by, we know who you are!).
This Event will be in Quig’s Pub on the 3rd floor. Unfortunately, Plays & Players Theater is a historic building and we are not wheelchair accessible at this time. This event is 21+.
