On May 28, the historic Plays & Players venue hosts a Grand Reopening of their art gallery from 3pm – 7pm. Located in the lower level lobby of the theater you will find this hidden gem that first opened in 2016, showcasing a variety of local artists. May 28 will mark the first exhibit since the global pandemic. The space has been repainted, revitalized, and re-imagined! Four artists’ work comprises this exhibit, which will run through September 2023: Gigi Lovond, Christopher Hunter, Daniel Liddy, and Varvara Fern. All four are local to Philadelphia, and feature diverse offerings from painted works to sculptural and functional pieces. 

The Grand Opening event will include light fare and wine for a Pay What You Can donation, $5+. After this kickoff event, the gallery will be free to view during any shows and events hosted at the theater. Private viewing can be arranged by emailing kris@playsandplayers.org
